**What you’ll be doing...**

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- SSE Implementation and Management: Spearhead the design, implementation, and maintenance of a robust cloud-based network security solution, incorporating industry best practices and aligning with Verizon's security standards.
- ZTNA Policy Deployment and Enforcement: Implement and manage Zero Trust Network Access policies within the SSE environment to ensure granular access control and minimize attack surfaces.
- Security Protocol Management: Deploy and maintain critical security protocols, including IPSEC, AH, ESP, and IKE, to safeguard network traffic and data confidentiality.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve technical issues related to SSE deployments and operations, minimizing service disruptions and ensuring optimal performance.
- Cloud Security Integration: Leverage cloud-based security technologies, such as CASB and FWaaS, to extend security controls and threat protection to cloud environments.
- SSE Solution Development: Design and implement tailored SSE solutions that address specific security requirements and align with evolving threat landscapes.
- SSE Platform Management: Configure and manage SSE platforms, including CASB, FWaaS, and other relevant technologies, to ensure effective security policy enforcement and threat mitigation.
- Security Policy Development: Develop and enforce comprehensive security policies for the SSE framework, ensuring consistent security controls across all locations and users.
- Threat Monitoring and Response: Continuously monitor and analyze security events and alerts, taking swift and decisive action to mitigate potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- SSE Infrastructure Optimization: Maintain and optimize the SSE infrastructure to achieve peak performance, scalability, and security.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather design requirements, identify automation opportunities, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
- Vendor API Integration: Interact with vendor-supplied APIs to facilitate reporting, automation, and streamline operational processes.
- Security Best Practices: Adhere to security best practices, including least privilege access, to minimize risk and maintain a strong security posture.
- Network and System Automation: Leverage automation tools and scripting languages to streamline network and system provisioning, configuration, and management tasks.

**You’ll need to have**:

- Bachelor's degree or six or more years of experience.
- Ten or more years of hands-on experience in IT, with a strong focus on network engineering and security.
- Strong expertise in security frameworks, CASB, SWG, ZTNA, and cloud security.
- Network Engineering Expertise: Five or more years of experience in network engineering (LAN/WAN), with a deep understanding of routing protocols (MPLS, BGP, OSPF) and LAN technologies.
- Proficiency in SQL for database querying and manipulation.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Tableau, or similar.
- Knowledge of programming language (Python) for data analysis.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and modeling techniques.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Professional-level network certification or higher (e.g., CCNP, SASE).

**Even better if you have**:

- Proficiency in SQL for database querying and manipulation.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Tableau, or similar.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Scripting Skills: Proficiency in Python, XML, or YANG scripting languages for automation and configuration management.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues within a large enterprise environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

**Where you’ll be working**: In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
