As an intern at GF, you’ll experience one-on-one mentorship, work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives.

**Your Job**:
This position involves the study and development of High Current Models of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) Devices (FETs, Diodes and SCRs) that are used in Protection Circuits. The intern will have the holistic experience of examining how the fabrication process, device design (involving TCAD), measurements and PDK (Process Development Kit) model enablement come together to deliver the next generation technologies at GF.

**Essential Responsibilities include**:

- Interact with the Technology Development, Measurement Lab and Modeling Teams to understand the flow of Design and Data information.
- Use modeling tools like Cadence and Simulators (Spectre and HSPICE) for model parameter extraction and testing.
- Use of TCAD for study of device behavior (Thermal and Electrical) and Failure Physics
- Employ in-house Automation tools to examine model quality

**Other Responsibilities**:

- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Education - Actively pursuing a Masters/Ph.D in Electronics, VLSI, Semiconductor Physics or related field.
- Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong planning & organizational skills
- Strong background in Semiconductor Device Physics, Circuit level appreciation and moderate experience with Verilog-A and scripting languages like Python, R.
