Job Description:
A Medical Secretary plays a vital role in maintaining the efficient operation of healthcare facilities by managing administrative tasks related to patient care, scheduling, and communication. This position involves working closely with healthcare professionals, patients, and insurance companies to ensure smooth workflow in medical offices or hospitals.

Key Responsibilities:

- **Appointment Management**: Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal time slots and minimizing wait times.
- **Patient Interaction**: Greet patients, assist with check-in/out procedures, and respond to inquiries regarding services and appointments.
- **Medical Records**: Maintain and update patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and billing information, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
- **Documentation**: Prepare and manage medical documents, such as referral letters, reports, and discharge summaries.
- **Billing and Insurance**: Process insurance claims and billing transactions, verify patient insurance coverage, and assist with resolving payment issues.
- **Communication**: Act as a liaison between patients and medical professionals, conveying critical information accurately and efficiently.
- **Office Management**: Oversee office supplies and equipment, ensuring proper functioning and availability for staff use.
- **Compliance**: Stay informed about medical office policies, health regulations, and confidentiality laws (e.g., HIPAA).

Qualifications:
