Immediate Requirement for Editor

**Description**:
**Centre of Excellence for Road Safety (CoERS)** established at **RBG labs, IIT Madras** acts as think tank and funded by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, GOI. In addition, the centre advises and guides various stakeholders like State Governments and industry bodies in different aspects of road safety. The centre with multidisciplinary prospects works with principle of Integrated Systems approach on 4E’s (Engineering, Enforcement, Emergency & Education) to enhance Road Safety across the nation and globe in pledge to save lives

At the Centre of Excellence for Road Safety, we are looking for a **Editor**to join at IIT Madras, Chennai.

**Responsibilities**

Ø Oversee proofreading and review all the communications from the centre. Write new publications and edit copies when necessary.

Ø Proactively pitch new ideas for stories, blogs, press releases, social and other media materials to have a larger outreach

Ø Use project management tools to develop editorial calendar, monitor and maintain various project publication deadlines such as journals, reports, presentations, press releases, popular articles, blogs, training content, webinars, website, multimedia, interviews, infographics, events, SM posts.

Ø Work with the leadership team and road safety domain experts at CoERS to determine the style guide, outline, and content to ensure they meet the objectives and standards set by the center.

Ø Ability to collaborate with large teams that include road safety domain experts, writers, editors, video editors, and graphic designers to coordinate long-term and short-term communications.

Ø Implement best practices, workflows, tools and templates to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the publishing process

Ø Identify new talent and skilled members to have a strong editorial and production team

**Requirements**:
Ø Bachelor’s or master’s sdegree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field

Ø Minimum 3 years of experience as Editor. Minimum 5 years of experience in media relations, public relations, content writing, copywriting and editing. In depth knowledge of SEO concepts would be added advantage

Ø An eye for design and good knowledge in design software such as InDesign, Photoshop and MS Office, Teams.

Ø Ability to handle constructive feedback, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously, with the possibility of working after hours.
