Netbackup Administrator

**Job Title: NetBackup Administrator**

**Location**: Gurgaon

**Experience**: 6+ years

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Administer and maintain the Veritas NetBackup environment, ensuring reliable and efficient data backup and recovery processes.
- Configure and manage backup policies, schedules, and storage units.
- Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and ensure successful completion of backups.
- Perform regular system and data integrity checks to ensure data is correctly backed up and can be restored when needed.
- Implement and manage disaster recovery solutions, including replication and offsite storage.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies.
- Manage and maintain backup infrastructure, including servers, storage devices, and network components.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members and other IT staff.
- Document backup and recovery procedures, policies, and configurations.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in data backup and recovery technologies.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in administering Veritas NetBackup environments.
- Strong knowledge of data backup and recovery principles and best practices.
- Experience with configuring and managing NetBackup policies, schedules, and storage units.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving backup job failures and issues.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and implementation.
- Familiarity with storage technologies and concepts (SAN, NAS, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Veritas Certified Specialist) are a plus.
