Retail Gemmologist @ Tanishq Jayanagar

We are looking for a Gemmologist Sales specialist who blends deep technical knowledge in understanding of gemstones, including their properties, characteristics, and the processes used in gemstone grading and certification. This role requires a strong understanding of gemmology, proficiency in using gemmological instruments, and the ability to effectively communicate technical information in simplified form to customers. He will also have part responsibility for driving studded jewellery sales by leveraging gemmological expertise and having proficiency to use the sales system and other jewellery related equipment in the store.

Key Responsibilities:

- Identify and evaluate gemstones based on color, clarity, cut, carat, and other relevant factors, providing expert advice and guidance to customers on gemstone characteristics, quality, and value
- Responsible for Diamond clinic at store by demonstrating diamond superiority to customers through various techniques, providing appraisals and valuations for gemstones, including diamonds and precious stones.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, building strong customer relationships and fostering repeat business through customer events, expert advice on gemstone selection and care.
- Conduct gemmological tests to confirm the authenticity and quality of gemstones, maintaining & calibration of equipment’s like microscopes, refractometers, and spectrometers.
- Educate RSOs on gemstones and work with them on sales of studded jewellery by leveraging in-depth gemstone knowledge and effective sales techniques, communication and interpersonal skills
- Manage the studded sales process from initial inquiry to final transaction through technical demonstration
- Update with the latest trends in gemstone identification, treatments, and synthetics understanding market and competitor study for being aware of the prevailing practices and implement the best practice at our organisation

Qualifications:

- Diploma or degree in Gems and Jewellery / Gemmology or science / related field from a recognized institution.
- Certification from institutions such as the Gemmological Institute of America (GIA) or the International Gemmological Institute (IGI) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience (2-5 years) in gemmology / gemmological laboratory / manufacturing
- Hands on experience in handling gemstone equipment’s
- Strong understanding on gemstone grading, quality assessment, and market value.
- Knowledge of diamond grading and gemstone testing techniques.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset
- Ability to influence customers through demonstration of diamond superiority in simplified manner

- Solitaire and Diamond influenced product sales in collaboration with Retail Sales Officer
- Knowledge of precious metals and their interaction with gemstones.

**Job Type**: Permanent

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
