Digital Video Curation Associate Producer

Reuters is looking for curators to organize and optimize the video content on our digital sites and external streaming services. This might mean curating single news assets but also grouping others intelligently and thematically.

To succeed in this role, you should be an avid consumer of global news stories and of digital video storytelling. Your work will be key to the success of Reuters consumer offering. You will be working alongside a global team of video producers, and the wider digital team in Bangalore.

We need people who are genuinely enthusiastic about showcasing Reuters videos through careful curation and content management. Additionally, there will be opportunities to develop your own editing and production skills.

This role includes some overnight and weekend working. It is an essential production desk job based in Bangalore.

As a video curator, you will:

- Make it easier for users to find and watch videos relevant to the news and to them
- Monitor news, global trending stories and our corresponding production output
- Ensure the accuracy of all video uploads metadata and closed captioning
- Learn our editing and scripting tools, and our cloud file storage
- Be part of a small team directed by a local manager in Bangalore
- Coordinate daily with senior video producers in Europe and the Americas
- Collaborate with our global head of planning to schedule thematic playlists
- Follow a 7-day rotating shift pattern, including some overnights and holidays
- Experience of working in a digital newsroom or with digital video
- A passion for telling news and personal stories from around the world
- Experience of digital video management or working with a CMS
- A clear understanding of digital video production and imagery best practices
- Some basic video editing skills, preferably Adobe Premiere
- Excellent written and spoken English
- The ability to remain calm under pressure
- A track record of being a team player
