Job Description for Pattern Master -Garment Factory

A Pattern Master in a garment factory plays a crucial role in developing and modifying patterns to ensure accurate fit, construction, and production feasibility. This role involves working closely with designers, merchandisers, and production teams to create patterns that meet both client specifications and manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Pattern Development & Modification:
'¢ Create accurate garment patterns manually or using CAD software based on design specifications.

'¢ Modify and refine existing patterns to achieve the best fit and shape.

'¢ Adjust patterns based on feedback from sample fittings and production trials.

2. Sample Development & Fit Analysis:
'¢ Work with sample tailors and production teams to create prototypes for approval.

'¢ Conduct fit trials on mannequins or live models and make necessary adjustments.

'¢ Ensure patterns align with brand and client requirements.

3. Grading & Size Variations:
'¢ Develop size-wise grading for patterns while maintaining proportional accuracy.

'¢ Ensure patterns remain consistent across different sizes and fits.

4. Fabric Consumption & Costing:
'¢ Estimate fabric consumption for each design to help with costing calculations.

'¢ Work closely with the merchandising and production teams to optimize material usage.

5. Production Support & Troubleshooting:
'¢ Provide technical guidance to cutting, sewing, and finishing teams to ensure smooth execution of styles.

'¢ Address and resolve any pattern-related issues that arise during bulk production.

6. Collaboration with Different Teams:
'¢ Work closely with designers, merchandisers, and quality control teams to meet production and quality standards.

'¢ Coordinate with sewing technicians to ensure patterns are production-friendly.

7. Pattern Digitization & Software Usage:
'¢ Use CAD software (e.g., ORBITING (GEMINI), Lectra ) to create digital patterns for accuracy and efficiency.

'¢ Maintain a digital library of patterns for easy reference and future use.

8. Maintaining Pattern Documentation:
'¢ Keep detailed records of all patterns, alterations, and specifications.

'¢ Ensure updated versions of patterns are correctly stored and easily accessible.

9. Ensuring Quality & Compliance:
'¢ Follow garment construction standards and best practices.

'¢ Ensure patterns are production-friendly and compliant with buyer requirements.

Essential Skills:
'¢ Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of pattern making, garment construction, and grading techniques.

'¢ Software Knowledge: Proficiency in CAD software like Gerber, Lectra, or Optitex for digital pattern creation.

'¢ Attention to Detail: High precision in measurements, fittings, and pattern adjustments.

'¢ Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot pattern-related production issues.

'¢ Communication Skills: Ability to work closely with designers, merchandisers, and production teams.

'¢ Fabric Knowledge: Understanding different fabric behaviors and how they affect fit and patternmaking.

Qualifications & Experience:
'¢ Education: Diploma or degree in Fashion Technology, Pattern Making, or Garment Construction.

'¢ Experience: 5-12 years of experience in pattern making, preferably in knitted and woven garments.

'¢ Technical Skills: Expertise in both manual and digital pattern development.

Growth Opportunities:
With experience, a Pattern Master can advance to roles such as Head of Pattern Making, Technical Manager, or Product Development Manager.

FACTORY LOCATION:
1. 28/30 Asher Nagar, behind SAP theatre, Avinashi Road, Tirupur-3.

2. Sevanthampalayam, Dharapuram Road, Near GH, Tirupur-8.

Pay: ₹24,000.00 - ₹34,500.00 per month
