The Manufacturing, Agribusiness & Services (MAS) Industry Group plays a vital role in supporting IFC's strategic priorities, covering investments in the global manufacturing and services, agribusiness, health, and education sectors. MAS' sectors play a critical role in providing goods and services to consumers, addressing core needs, creating jobs, contributing to government revenues, and stimulating growth. In IFC's client countries, these sectors can account for as much as 80% of overall economic activity and can account for up to 90% of employment activity, particularly in the poorest countries.

**Roles and Responsibilities**

**Business Development & Strategy**
- Develop and lead the business development strategy for MAS sectors in South Asia, covering investment and upstream advisory. Define target clients, priorities, key actions, and timelines to maximize market potential.
- Drive market-creation initiatives by engaging WBG senior management and government officials (minister level) on regulatory reforms, particularly in IDA and FCS countries.
- Support country teams in identifying and engaging top-tier clients, leading strategic relationship management, and ensuring deals are investment-ready.

**Client Engagement & Relationship Management**
- Build and sustain high-level relationships (CEO and C-suite) with large corporate clients, exploring long-term, cross-sector opportunities.
- Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, including syndicate lenders and government agencies, to support long-term partnerships.
- Work closely with equity clients to create value, explore IPOs, and drive strategic exits.

**Deal Structuring & Execution**
- Lead the structuring and execution of complex, high-impact transactions, leveraging relationships to address challenges and accelerate deal progress.
- Provide expert insights on risk-reward dynamics, negotiate solutions, and guide teams in structuring transactions to balance financial viability, development impact, and scalability.
- Optimize IFC's investment approach by introducing catalytic finance solutions to enhance high-development-impact projects.
- Oversee financial assessments, reviewing assumptions and projections to ensure accuracy and strategic alignment.

**Portfolio & Risk Management**
- Proactively manage a portfolio of high-value investments, identifying repeat business opportunities and driving transactions to financial close.
- Conduct sector and country reviews, assessing portfolio performance, pipeline trends, and market developments. Present insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Oversee IRP reviews, evaluate asset ratings and valuations, and recommend risk-mitigation strategies for portfolio stability.
- Lead restructuring and rescheduling of distressed assets in coordination with CSO.

**Leadership & Compliance**
- Mentor and develop team members through coaching and hands-on learning opportunities.
- Ensure compliance across ESG, insurance, and governance, working closely with specialists to uphold IFC standards.

Selection Criteria

**Education & Experience**
- Master's degree in business, finance, economics, or a relevant field.
- 16+ years of experience in consulting, investment banking, or industry operations.

**Deal Structuring, Negotiation & Risk Management**
- Strong track record in structuring, negotiating, and executing complex transactions.
- Expertise in assessing risks, making strategic pivots, and determining optimal exit strategies.

**Strategic Influence & Market Engagement**
- Ability to shape investment decisions and align with IFC's long-term goals.
- Build and leverage networks in South Asia to identify opportunities and expand market reach.
- Engage with senior government officials to drive regulatory reforms and unlock private sector investment.

**IFC Product Expertise & Financial Analysis**
- In-depth knowledge of IFC's investment, upstream, and advisory services.
- Strong financial modeling and risk assessment skills, ensuring quality control in investment decisions.

**Portfolio, Client Management & Value Creation**
- Experience managing diverse clients and complex transactions, including in IDA/FCS markets.
