**Title**: Platform Architect - UNIX

**Job Purpose Statement**

**Key Responsibilities**

1. Responsible for development & maintaining platform specific technical documentation, directly working with the customer

2. Develop intimate knowledge about the customer’s environment

3. Act as highest point of technical escalation as & when needed

4. Work with the internal teams to continuously improve processes

5. Maintain knowledge of customers’ infrastructure interdependencies

6. Analyze any platform specific issues with proper RCA and implement corrective actions

7. Conduct Proof of Concept testing to identify gaps and fix technology solutions as well as document solutions

8. Provide technical consultation and advise on solution design, modifications and best practice

9. Responsible and accountable for primary technical platform within assigned accounts

10. Contribute to growth of Sungard AS knowledge base by participating in the writing of best practice and white paper documents

12. Provide technical and solution development support for sales activities

13. Provide hands-on incident/change production support for managed environments where customer requires a unique skillset

**Technical Competencies (Experience and Knowledge)**

At least 8 years of professional IT experience with demonstrated experience related to Enterprise Architecture / Engineering within complex environments

Technology certifications preferred on any UNIX flavors like, IBM AIX, HP-UX, Red hat Linux or Solaris, etc

Good degree of experience in Disaster Recovery Design and Solutions

Experience and troubleshooting knowledge on Volume managers such as VERITAS and Solaris (SVM)

Experience on OS recovery strategy such as Flar, mksysb restore or ignite backup, wan-boot, zone management, LDOM’s, IPMP

Extensive experience with Oracle/Sun Solaris (9, 10 and 11) required

Extensive experience with UNIX platform like IBM AIX (5.3, 6.1 & 7.1) or HP-UX (11.23 & 11.31)

Must have experience in Linux Platform should have extensive experience in Linux Platform in Production Support and Managing Large Infrastructure

Should have expertise in at least one of the clustering technology i.e HACMP, VCS & RedHat Cluster Suite

Experience with Solaris Zones, LDOMs, containers, ZFS & AIX LPAR, VIO’s & WPAR concepts

Knowledge and Experience with Public Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
