The mission of the Data Science team at Confluent is to serve as the central nervous system of all things data for the company: we build analytics infrastructures, metrics, insights, and models, to empower data-driven thinking, and optimize every part of the business. **About the Role**:
As a Product Data Scientist at Confluent, you will be a key player in influencing the product roadmap, collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, and Marketing stakeholders. Your focus will include data exploration, project execution, and the creation of actionable insights to drive product strategy.

**What You Will Do**:
As a Product Data Scientist, your responsibilities will include:
- Identify high-impact opportunities through data exploration, and execute projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams, contributing to the enhancement of product experience and adoption.- Define success metrics, build/maintain dashboards to monitor the health of our product, and understand changes to our KPIs- Share actionable insights and recommendations with leadership at various levels, playing a pivotal role in steering product strategy- Design and execute A/B tests to measure the impact of product features and launches, providing insights that guide iterative improvements. Contribute to the establishment and monitoring of key product metrics.- Craft compelling data stories and concise data visualizations, contributing to comprehensive dashboards and reports that measure the impact of product initiatives.- Collaborate with other data scientists across our organization to share best practices, learn new analytical techniques, and champion an organizational culture where data is central to decision making

**What We're Looking For**:
4+ years of experience in a Product Data Science role, preferably at a technology company- Strong proficiency in data manipulation, especially using SQL (+4 years of experience)- Proficiency in data visualization and building dashboards (eg. Tableau)- Experience and/or knowledge in experiment design (i.e. A/B testing)- Excellent communication skills, and ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical audience- Exceptional problem solving skills and detail oriented mindset- Bachelor or advanced degree in a quantitative discipline: computer science, engineering, statistics, economics, etc.

**What Give You An Edge**:
Proficiency in Python (or R)- Experience in statistical modeling (e.g., clustering, regression, time series, Bayesian statistics)
