**DISCIPLINE : COMMUNITY MEDICINE/ PSM.**
Responsible for designing, conducting, and analyzing statistical data related to clinical research, patient outcomes, quality improvement initiatives, and other healthcare operations, collaborating closely with medical professionals to interpret results and inform decision-making within the institution; key duties include study design, data collection, statistical analysis, report writing, and presenting findings to researchers and healthcare leadership. Key responsibilities:
- **Study Design**:
- Collaborate with researchers to design statistically sound clinical trials, observational studies, and quality improvement projects.
- Determine appropriate sample sizes and data collection methods.
- Develop analysis plans, including statistical tests to be used.
- **Data Management**:
- Ensure data quality by reviewing data collection procedures and performing data cleaning.
- Manage and organize large datasets from electronic health records, clinical trials, and other sources.
- Develop data entry protocols and oversee data entry processes.
- **Statistical Analysis**:
- Conduct statistical analyses using appropriate software packages (e.g., SAS, R) to identify trends, patterns, and significant relationships within data.
- Perform descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and survival analysis as needed.
- **Interpretation and Reporting**:
- Interpret statistical findings and translate complex results into clear, concise reports for researchers, clinicians, and administrators.
- Prepare presentations summarizing research findings for internal and external audiences.
- Contribute to manuscript writing for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- **Quality Improvement**:
- Analyze hospital data to identify areas for quality improvement and develop data-driven strategies.
- Monitor key performance indicators and track progress on quality improvement initiatives.
- **Collaboration**:
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, researchers, and other healthcare professionals to understand clinical questions and research objectives.
- Provide statistical expertise and guidance throughout the research process.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**:
- Master's degree in biostatistics, statistics, or a related field with a strong emphasis on applied statistics
- Proficiency in statistical software packages like SAS, R, or SPSS
- Understanding of medical terminology and healthcare research methodologies
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex statistical concepts to non-statisticians
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
