**About Gender Equity at Dasra**

Dasra strongly believes that advancing gender equity is a growing concern in the Indian context. We understand that the case of women’s empowerment in India is peculiar, and requires shifts across knowledge, attitudes, and practice. Advancing women in leadership can create transformative impact to positively change societal norms.

Dasra is collaborating with national and global actors (listed below) to drive action on the levers of change through the following:
**1.** **Advance women into leadership within private sector companies**
Dasra’s Women in Leadership in Healthcare initiative focuses on advancing women into leadership roles within India's healthcare sector through pilots around inclusive organizational policies and practices. Through partnerships with private sector companies, Diversity Equity Inclusion (DEI) experts and lighthouse organizations, we aim to build evidence on what models work and can be scaled within the larger sector. Dasra is the India consortium lead for Women in Leadership initiative supported by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), Dasra will build a cohort of healthcare companies, develop a community of practice of key stakeholders to collectively develop solutions, collect evidence and inspire others to act.

**2.** **Convene multi-stakeholder networks**
Dasra actively curates opportunities, networks and platforms that support peer-learning, sharing and combining efforts for collective, concerted and urgent action on women’s and girls’ leadership. As the convener of WomenLead India Alliance, we drive collaborative action in the sectors of philanthropy, development and business to build stronger connections and create a platform to take the local data and evidence from the global south to the world and to galvanize a global community of practice in the sphere of gender that functions as a space for exploring synergies and collaborations, building and disseminating knowledge, and championing impactful leaders, initiatives, and organizations.

1. **3.Support women’s leadership in civil society**
We support women-led organizations that are driving change through grassroot level interventions, and institutional solution providers with the potential of creating transformational delta change to positively impact women’s and girls’ leadership, economic opportunities, and civic participation in India. Through our catalytic grants program and the Rebuild India Fund, we provide flexible trust-based grants and capacity building opportunities to proximate women leaders to help build stronger institutions and effective solutions.

**3.** **Build momentum for better resourcing for gender transformative work**
Dasra seeks to catalyze resources towards enhancing women's representation and leadership in key development areas. Towards this, we are conducting sectoral research, consultations and campaigns to comprehend barriers, spotlight what has worked and build a positive future looking narrative for resourcing for gender equity interventions in India. Our aim is to generate insights on philanthropy and social impact investments, fostering a compelling narrative for investing in gender as a critical driver for social impact.
