We are looking for talented Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who is highly impactful with their overall quality influence for the group. You will work closely with a talented tech team of Software Development Engineers (SDEs). You will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of technologies from Front-End UI (both web and device) to Back-End distributed web services and device software. You will be responsible for driving automation for the QA team and develop robust automation framework(s) for functional, performance as well as API level testing. Additionally, you will partner with QAE in extending automation coverage by writing test scripts and utilities that enable the testers and developers approximate real-world environments and regression tests, and driving the software development process towards quality-centric methodologies.
The Role:
As a Software Development Engineer in Test you will join the team of hands-on, passionate and seasoned professionals developing innovative consumer-centric product solutions. In this role, you will:
- Design and develop testing systems for continuous deployment
- Review interfaces for conformity and functionality
- Design and implement the software architecture for executing hardware-in-the loop testing
- Find, isolate, document, and track bugs on robot hardware
- Integrate with simulation systems for rapid evaluation of performance
- Interpret and report testing results, and be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process
- Work with engineers from multiple disciplines to understand the overall technical architecture and how each feature is implemented
About the team
We work on expanding Alexa's use case by creating features and core Alexa system functionality that allows Alexa to be use by business enterprises (as opposed to personal homes).
- Experience building test and deployment software test frameworks in a greenfield environment - Experience testing an embedded system - Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in an SDET role - Coding experience with automated testing frameworks, tools, services, and physical devices - Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions - Enjoy working with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly - Experienced in Agile or Scrum methodologies - Experience influencing engineering best practices within your team and with partner teams - Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills - Experience with open source test tools, make files and build scripts - API testing including working experience with unit test frameworks
