Shadow Teacher- Thiruvanmiyur

**One-on-One Support**:

- Provide personalized academic support to students with special needs during classroom activities, ensuring they can engage with the curriculum and participate in class.
- Assist students in understanding and completing assignments, adapting tasks to their learning abilities and needs.
- Offer behavioral support to students, helping them to develop appropriate social and emotional skills, and encouraging positive behavior in the classroom.
- **Classroom Assistance**:

- Support the classroom teacher in managing the classroom and maintaining a conducive learning environment.
- Assist with the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and modify teaching methods or materials to accommodate each student's needs.
- Help students with communication, motor skills, and physical activities, as required by their specific needs.
- **Behavioral and Emotional Support**:

- Observe and monitor students' behavior and provide real-time interventions to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
- Help students develop coping strategies to manage emotions, anxiety, and challenging behaviors.
- Encourage the student's independence and self-regulation, gradually decreasing support as the student becomes more capable.
- **Collaboration with Teachers and Staff**:

- Work closely with the classroom teacher and special education team to develop strategies and modify lessons to meet the student's needs.
- Attend and contribute to regular meetings with parents, teachers, and special education staff to discuss the student’s progress and challenges.
- Provide feedback to the teacher and parents about the student’s achievements, difficulties, and any behavioral or emotional concerns.
- **Progress Monitoring and Reporting**:

- Help assess the student's progress by documenting academic performance, behavior, and emotional development.
- Provide regular updates to the teacher and other stakeholders on the student’s progress and challenges.
- Maintain confidentiality while documenting any observations or issues that may affect the student’s well-being or education.
- **Social Skills Development**:

- Support the student in developing social skills by facilitating peer interactions and group work.
- Encourage positive social behavior, including respect for others, teamwork, and communication.
- Help students navigate social situations within the classroom, playground, and other school environments.
- **Adaptation of Educational Materials**:

- Adapt classroom materials and activities to suit the learning style and needs of the student, including using assistive technology, visual aids, or modified resources.
- Ensure that the learning environment is comfortable, accessible, and supportive for the student.
- **Personal Care and Physical Assistance**:

- Provide any required personal care, including assistance with feeding, toileting, or mobility, in accordance with the student’s needs.
- Ensure the student’s safety and comfort at all times, particularly in more physically demanding or unstructured settings (e.g., during breaks or recess).

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- **Education**:

- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or Psychology is preferred.
- Additional qualifications or training in supporting children with specific learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or other special needs is a plus.
- **Experience**:

- Previous experience working with children with special needs in a school, daycare, or therapeutic setting is highly preferred.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
