The Helper in a food plant plays a crucial role in supporting the production and processing of food products. This position is responsible for assisting operators, machine operators, and other production staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations. The Helper assists with the preparation of ingredients, packaging, and maintaining cleanliness in the work area, all while adhering to safety and quality standards.
- **Assisting in Production**:

- Help in the setup, operation, and shutdown of production lines.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of ingredients and raw materials.
- Follow all operational procedures to ensure efficient production flow.
- Operate basic machines and equipment under supervision (e.g., mixers, blenders, filling machines).
- **Packaging**:

- Assist in packaging finished food products, ensuring they meet quality and quantity standards.
- Ensure that packaging is done in accordance with company specifications (labels, sealing, etc.).
- **Cleaning and Sanitation**:

- Regularly clean and sanitize workstations, machinery, and equipment.
- Follow all cleaning schedules and ensure that all areas meet hygiene and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness in production areas to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- **Quality Control Support**:

- Assist in inspecting products for quality and reporting defects or issues.
- Ensure that all items are stored correctly and follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles.
- Monitor the quality of products during the production process.
- **Inventory Management**:

- Assist with inventory management by counting and tracking ingredients and packaging materials.
- Notify supervisors when supplies are low or when restocking is required.
- **Safety and Compliance**:

- Adhere to all health and safety regulations in the food plant.
- Follow the personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Report any unsafe conditions or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
- Ensure proper handling of food items to prevent contamination.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education and Experience**:

- 12 th completed/ incomplete
- **Skills and Competencies**:

- Ability to follow instructions and operate basic machinery.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Good manual dexterity and the ability to lift heavy items when necessary.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with supervisors and coworkers.
- **Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry up to 25-50 lbs (11-23 kg), and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus on safety and quality.
