Sitero is currently seeking a knowledgeable Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. As a DBA, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of our systems, ensuring their stability, security, and optimal performance. You will work with technologies such as MS SQL, Azure SQL, Azure, AWS, Windows, and scripting with PowerShell.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Installing and managing all company databases employing corporate standards including service pack deployments and patch upgrades.
- Installing and deploying databases using pre-made upgrade/install scripts.
- Work closely with our development and DevOps teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and reliable database operations
- Creating installation scripts including base installation scripts to create tables, indexes, stored procedures and initial data.
- Database Performance Tuning: Monitor and analyze database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or other performance issues
- Examining execution plans to determine where indexes can be built to improve performance.
- Collaboration and Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders, to understand their database requirements and provide technical support Creating data warehousing (SSIS) packages for data extraction, transformation, and loading
- Creating processes to load and scrub data
- Regularly perform data backups, recovery, and disaster planning to ensure data integrity and availability
- Writing and tuning stored procedures
- Loading and exporting data.
- Well versed in Configuration and support of Windows Native Clustering and SQL Clustering and SQL Always ON technology
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- At least 4-6 years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
- At least 4 years of experience with SQL Server and associated tools.
- At least 4 years of experience with SQL programming and query optimization.
- At least 4 years of experience in database performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Solid understanding of data security, backup, and recovery procedures.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure) is a plus
- Working knowledge of the drug development process including knowledge of FDA requirements for GxPs and 21 CFR Part 11 is a plus
- Experience managing leading life sciences system implementations would be an advantage (i.e. CTMS, Drug Safety, EDC, Quality, CRM, Data Analytics, HRMS, Accounting / Finance, etc.),
