**Reports To**: Café Manager/Store Manager

**Job Summary**:
The Shift Incharge in a café is responsible for managing daily operations during their shift, ensuring smooth workflow, and maintaining high standards of customer service. This role involves overseeing team performance, managing inventory, and ensuring adherence to hygiene and safety protocols to provide an excellent café experience to customers.

**Key Responsibilities:Operational Management**:

- Oversee all café operations during the assigned shift, ensuring smooth execution of tasks.
- Monitor and manage workflows, including order taking, preparation, and service.
- Ensure adherence to café standards, SOPs, and company policies.
- Handle shift openings, closures, and cash reconciliations accurately.

**Customer Service**:

- Ensure prompt and friendly customer service, resolving any complaints or concerns professionally.
- Monitor service quality to maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
- Address special requests or dietary needs with accuracy and care.

**Team Leadership**:

- Supervise and support café staff, including baristas, kitchen staff, and servers.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure timely completion of duties.
- Train and mentor team members to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork.

**Inventory and Supplies Management**:

- Monitor stock levels of ingredients, beverages, and supplies to avoid shortages.
- Coordinate with suppliers or managers for timely replenishments.
- Minimize waste by ensuring proper handling and storage of products.

**Hygiene and Safety Compliance**:

- Ensure the café meets all hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards.
- Conduct routine checks to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Address and resolve any hygiene or safety issues immediately.

**Reporting and Communication**:

- Prepare shift reports summarizing sales, inventory, and team performance.
- Communicate any operational issues or customer feedback to the Café Manager.
- Ensure proper handover between shifts to maintain operational continuity.

**Key Skills and Competencies**:

- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of café operations, including POS systems and food safety practices.
- Attention to detail and a customer-focused attitude.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality management qualifications are a plus.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a café or restaurant environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of coffee-making and café menu items is an advantage.

**Work Environment**:

- Rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- On-your-feet work environment with occasional lifting of light to moderate loads.
