**Job Description - Librarian**
**Location**: Emerald School, Nelamangala
**Employment Type**: Full-time (Immediate Joiner)

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage and maintain the school library, including cataloging, issuing, and returning books.
- Develop and implement reading programs to encourage students’ engagement with literature.
- Assist students and teachers in finding appropriate resources for academic and recreational reading.
- Maintain a well-organized and updated inventory of books and other learning materials.
- Ensure discipline and a conducive environment for reading and research in the library.
- Conduct storytelling sessions, book discussions, and literary activities for students.
- Coordinate with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum.
- Guide students in developing research and information literacy skills.
- Oversee library budget, purchase new books, and handle periodicals and subscriptions.
- Maintain digital records of library usage and manage online learning resources if applicable.

**Requirements**:

- **Educational Qualification**: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Library Science / Information Science or a related field.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a librarian, preferably in a residential school.
- **Skills**:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
- Passion for books and promoting literacy among students.
- Proficiency in library management software and digital resources is an advantage.
- **Availability**: Must be an immediate joiner.
