**VAT Compliance Associate**

Goldman Sachs is seeking one VAT associate, based in Bengaluru, as part of the EMEA VAT team, to help manage the VAT return compliance process.

**Responsibilities to include**:

- Supporting the oversight and review of group-wide VAT compliance across EMEA completed by an outsourced provider
- Act as a central point of contact for all VAT returns between the VAT team, the outsourced provider, finance and operations teams
- Review, approve and ensure returns are completed in line with agreed processes
- Maintenance of the VAT control framework to manage risks
- Support the VAT compliance process for the commodities business European VAT registrations
- Assist outsourced service providers to perform Balance Sheet Substantiation process which involves reconciliation of accounting records to VAT records
- Review and sign off standard VAT treatment on high value third party vendor invoices, fees billed to clients and new client account on boarding for select business divisions
- Provide support to other members of the VAT team to implement tax technology solutions in the UK and EMEA
- Ad-hoc business support in product and operational taxation matters
- Chartered Accountant/ Cost Accountant with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience
- Good experience with EU VAT/GST compliance
- Good understanding of or practical experience with international VAT
- Good understanding of accounting and proficiency in Ms-Excel
- Fluent in English - good oral and written communication
- Experience with setting up VAT logic in Ariba, S4 HANA is preferred although not mandatory
- Excellent data analytical stills
- Highly motivated, hard-working, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
