Social Worker

Job Summary:The Social Worker in the Community Medicine Department plays a critical role in the planning and implementation of public health programs, health education, and community outreach initiatives. This position involves working closely with faculty, students, local communities, and health authorities to improve public health outcomes and ensure effective community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support community-based health programs, camps, and field visits organized by the department.
- Conduct home visits, surveys, and interviews to assess the health, social, and economic needs of individuals and families.
- Mobilize community participation for various health initiatives including immunization drives, disease screening, and awareness campaigns.
- Provide health education and counselling on hygiene, nutrition, maternal and child health, and prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
- Liaise with local authorities, NGOs, and governmental bodies to coordinate outreach and welfare services.
- Assist medical students during community postings, health surveys, and data collection.
- Maintain accurate fieldwork records, prepare reports, and contribute to departmental documentation and presentations.
- Assist in the development and distribution of IEC (Information, Education & Communication) materials.
- Identify vulnerable populations and help connect them to relevant healthcare or social services.
- Participate actively in research projects, workshops, and training programs conducted by the department.

Qualifications:

- Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) or Sociology from a recognized institution.
- Experience in community-based work or public health settings is desirable.
- Freshers with field training in rural/urban health projects are welcome to apply.

Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per year
