Food Production Supervisor

**Job Title: Production Supervisor/Chef - Central Kitchen**

**Location**: Bopodi (Near Metro station)

**Reporting to**: Owner

**Job Overview**: The Production Supervisor/Chef will oversee the entire food production process at the central kitchen for a chain of restaurants. This role is responsible for managing daily production, ensuring quality and consistency, and leading the research and development (R&D) of new menu items. The individual will collaborate closely with restaurant teams to ensure that all products meet the company’s high standards for taste, quality, and efficiency.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Production Management**:

- Oversee daily production of food items for the chain’s restaurant outlets, ensuring timely and accurate preparation.
- Ensure consistency in quality, portion sizes, and presentation across all products.
- Manage production schedules to meet restaurant demands while optimizing efficiency.
- **Quality Control**:

- Monitor the production process to ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
- Implement and enforce strict quality control procedures, conducting regular checks to maintain consistency.
- Work closely with the purchasing and inventory team to ensure the use of high-quality ingredients.
- **Research & Development (R&D)**:

- Lead the development of new menu items and food products in collaboration with the Corporate Head Chef.
- Experiment with new recipes, techniques, and ingredients to innovate and enhance the brand’s culinary offerings.
- Conduct taste tests and refine recipes to align with customer preferences and market trends.
- **Food Cost Calculation**:

- Calculate food costs for all products, ensuring they align with budgetary targets and profitability goals.
- Collaborate with the inventory and purchasing teams to monitor ingredient prices and adjust recipes or portion sizes to maintain desired food cost percentages.
- Provide detailed reports on food costs, waste, and profitability to the management team.
- **Team Leadership and Training**:

- Supervise the production team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance.
- Train staff on cooking techniques, production processes, and safety protocols to maintain high standards.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.
- **Inventory and Cost Control**:

- Work with the inventory manager to ensure efficient use of ingredients, minimizing waste and controlling costs.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the purchasing team to ensure timely procurement of raw materials.
- **Collaboration with Outlets**:

- Liaise with restaurant managers and chefs to ensure products are aligned with outlet needs and customer expectations.
- Gather feedback from restaurant teams on product quality and performance, and adjust production as necessary.
- **Compliance and Safety**:

- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of the kitchen and production facilities to uphold the highest standards.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience in a high-volume kitchen or food production facility, ideally in a supervisory or head chef role.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Experience with R&D of new food products and menu items.
- Expertise in food cost calculation and cost control.
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in kitchen management software and production planning.

This role is ideal for a skilled chef with strong production management abilities, a passion for innovation in food development, and a keen understanding of food cost management to ensure profitability across all outlets.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
