The purpose of the Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) function is to ensure that the Bank’s Non-Financial Risk exposure is adequately managed in-line with the group wide risk appetite and NFRM framework.

The Product Governance function sits within NFRM and is responsible for the management of the New Product Approval (NPA), New Transaction Approval (NTA) and Product Lifecycle Frameworks to ensure appropriate due diligence takes place prior to the implementation of any new product, business initiative or non-vanilla transaction, that all products are regularly reviewed along their Lifecycle and that potential risks are appropriately assessed and managed.

This is a key role within the Global Product Governance function encompassing regionally, divisionally and globally focused elements. The role includes responsibilities as the Product Governance - Risk Manager for APAC region along with oversight of the PG - Quality Assurance team.

**Your key responsibilities**

This role
- holder will have responsibility for managing NPAs, NTAs and lifecycle reviews in APAC region, comprising of the Investment Bank, Corporate Bank, IPB and Treasury businesses. The role will also support the globally applicable Product Governance Frameworks contributing to initiatives to enhance them from a design perspective as well as their ongoing day-to-day maintenance including with respect to audit and regulatory interactions.

As an integral part of developing a “best in class” function, which will be a fundamental component of the NFRM function, a strategic agenda is being developed to, amongst other things:

- Continue to enhance governance frameworks for Product Governance
- Develop consistency across geographies / and business areas
- To improve the accountability of all stakeholders for both business and infrastructure functions
- To continue to enhance the current technology platforms
- To oversee the review of products not just at inception but also throughout the product life cycle

Responsibilities as a PG - Risk Manager
- Assisting in the day-to-day management and escalation of issues within the approval processes for NPAs/NTAs in the APAC region;
- Ensuring connectivity between the Product Governance and broader NFRM frameworks
- Being a day-to-day faceoff to the 1st and 2nd Line of Defense throughout the approval processes, helping to make the process efficient but also a robust governance process by escalating where necessary
- Providing support from a framework design, implementation and maintenance perspective
- Providing support with managing audit and regulatory interaction, to include planning and running remediation projects.

Lead - PG - Quality Assurance team
- Providing oversight and managing a team performing Quality assurance of approvals and submissions globally
- Guiding the team with their queries regarding work and career development
- Handling stakeholder queries and escalations
- Supporting with the Audit & Regulatory requests for evidences and process clarifications.

**Your skills and experience**
- Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in financial services, with a strong risk control mindset.
- Comprehensive understanding of the transactions and financials products offered by a Tier 1 investment bank as well as the supporting infrastructure and controls
- Experience in performing a control function position at a global financial institution with a strong understanding of framework design, implementation and maintenance
- Experience working with Senior Stakeholders within a high-pressure dynamic environment
- Ability to proactively work across a diverse group of stakeholders within a complex organisation and to quickly develop strong working relationships with a broad range of functions
- Strong oral and written skills - should be able to distil topics into understandable summaries with clear conclusions and explanations of rationale
- Assertive - must be proactive in forming relationships with key stakeholders in the business but be comfortable challenging senior business contacts
- Develop strong working relationships with the rest of NFRM
- Team player - willing to help out other team members where required and be a constructive conscientious corporate citizen
