Network Assistant

Job Title: Network Assistant Location: Assam University, Assam Employment Type: Contractual (Payroll of Brain Crowd Software Pvt. Ltd.) Reporting To: IT/Network Administrator, Assam University Job Summary: The Network Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance, monitoring, and support of the university’s network infrastructure. The position involves regular troubleshooting, system checks, network configuration, and basic technical support to ensure smooth internet and intranet services across campus. Key Responsibilities: Assist in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN networks. Monitor network performance and usage to ensure efficient and secure operations. Support the installation and maintenance of routers, switches, access points, and other network devices. Collaborate with IT staff to provide user support for network-related issues. Maintain documentation for network configurations, maintenance schedules, and technical processes. Assist with cybersecurity measures such as firewalls and antivirus updates. Perform routine checks to ensure uptime and connectivity across university departments. Report network issues to senior IT staff and follow up on resolutions. Required Skills & Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. Basic knowledge of networking concepts: IP addressing, subnets, DHCP, DNS, etc. Familiarity with Cisco or similar networking hardware. Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively. Strong communication and team collaboration skills. Previous experience in academic or enterprise network support is a plus.
