**Deputy Center In-charge, Insha-e-Noor Producer Company Ltd.**
**Initiated under the Nizamuddin Urban Renewal Initiative, Aga Khan Trust for Culture**

Insha-e-Noor (IeN) was initiated under the Nizamuddin Urban Renewal Initiative of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, as a response to a 2008 Quality of Life survey which informed that only eleven percent of the women in Nizamuddin Basti had their own source of income.

What began as a simple skill-training program for the women of Nizamuddin has now evolved to a full-fledged enterprise. IeN associates itself directly to close to 100 women of Nizamuddin Basti who work at the crafts center, and indirectly to many others who work at home after learning their skill from the center. The women members of IeN learn and practice five crafts - embroidery, _sanjhi_ (the art of paper cutting), crochet, garment construction and binding and packaging and produce a range of beautiful, handcrafted products marketed under brand of IeN.

The products of IeN can be broadly categorized into stationery, accessories, home décor and conference and gift range and are marketed through various platforms including a permanent kiosk of the brand in Sunder Nursery, Delhi, various craft retail shops, exhibitions etc. IeN also takes customized orders for design houses and large retail chains like Fab India, Jaypore etc.

IeN aims to provide enhanced, sustained and dignified income opportunities to the women involved through craft-based skills. The enterprise works to provide them with a safe working environment, exposure to the outside world, and skills to enhance their confidence.

The current opening is for someone to facilitate and support everyday functioning of the crafts center, while contributing towards its growth.

**Role Summary**

This is one of the few occasions that a community enterprise, initiated and supported through a long and sustained intervention, has become independent and is trying to gain new heights on its own.

The role of the Deputy Center In-charge is to anchor the functioning of the Insha-e-Noor, under the guidance of its CEO and directors, and sustain as well as augment the scale and scope of its business.

**Responsibilities and Deliverables**

1. Program Management
- Production and operations
- Ensure smooth implementation of everyday operations by routine planning and supervision. Developing timely production plans and implementing them according to current stock, budget and sales. Understand client’s requirement (when applicable) and successfully translate the same in production. Undertake a thorough quality check for all the products and orders. Supervise and plan purchasing of raw materials. Coordinate with vendors to ensure quality work and delivery. Also, keep making efforts to add new and more efficient vendors to the existing database.
- Inventory management
- Keep the inventory, of finished goods and raw materials, well-arranged and documented, with the help of team and directors. Supervise and document issue (and return) of finish goods to various sales platforms and raw material to artisans.
- Product development
- Provide necessary support in new sampling, trials and product development in consultation with the CEO, designer and artisans.
- Client engagement
- Be the first Point of Contact for everyday clients of Insha-e-Noor, especially B2C. Assume full responsibility of understanding clients’ requirements, product promotion, negotiating, ensuring timely and quality delivery (with the help of production team) and receiving and implementing feedback.

2. Business Development
- Provide constant support in marketing and promotion of Insha-e-Noor products through various channels including social media (Facebook, Instagram), other forms of digital marketing, in-person visits and more.
- Website management
- Manage the website of Insha-e-Noor - stock updating, conveying information about new orders, adding or removing products etc.

3. Community Engagement
- Capacity enhancement of artisans as and when required.
- Engage with artisans on an everyday basis, beyond just handling over and receiving work, with an aim of provide them with a safe space and equitable work environment.

4. Reporting and Documentation
- Writing the required reports including but not limited to meeting minutes, annual/quaterly reports, donor reports etc.

**Qualifications and Requirements**

This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment.

1. A bachelor’s degree in social development area or equivalent from a reputed academic institution

2. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in production management, marketing.

3. Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills required. Ease in English and Hindi is desirable.
