Surgical Medical Coder, Spine, and Pain Management

Job Summary: Our Client is seeking a skilled Surgical Medical Coder to join our team in the Spine and Pain Management department. The Surgical Medical Coder will be responsible for accurately coding medical procedures and diagnoses related to the spine and pain management treatments in accordance with ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS Level II coding guidelines. This position requires a deep understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology as well as an extensive knowledge of insurance and reimbursement processes.

**Responsibilities**:

- Accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses for spine and pain management treatments using ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS Level II coding guidelines.
- Review and analyze patient medical records to ensure proper documentation is available for coding purposes.
- Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to clarify diagnosis and procedure codes.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in coding regulations, medical terminology, and billing procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Work collaboratively with the billing department to ensure proper reimbursement from insurance providers.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in health information management or related field preferred.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical coding for spine and pain management procedures required.
- Deep understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with an ability to review and analyze medical records.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health record (EHR) systems

**Salary**: ₹400,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
