Product Associate

**Position Purpose**:

- To support the Commercial Product Manager within the Australia/New Zealand teamin market validation and prospecting tasks for the Australia/New Zealand market, author relationship building, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve Commercial Product’s (and wider Higher Education’s) goals to meet customer needs and create excellent products.

**Product value proposition support**
- Works closely with Commercial Product Manager, Content Strategists and Product Marketing Manager within Australia to assist with market validation and customer value proposition work
- Support Product Marketing and Content Strategists in creation of sales enablement material (PIMMs, consolidating information, finding relevant information)
- Support Commercial Product Manager and Product Marketing in competitor analysis work

**Market validation and prospecting support**
- Contribute to, and coordinate, product research processes and activities tosupport product strategy

Research
- Support Commerical Product Manager with curriculum research and maintaining and updating curriculum grids
- Assist Commercial Product Manager in the creation of review questionnaires and focus group scripts
- Work with Commercial Product Manager and members of the sales team to build accurate and targeted reviewer lists
- Support Product team with reviewer access to proof of concepts or other relevant reviewing material
- Manage review process by liaising with academics, sending materials for review and tracking progress to completion
- Manage reviewer payments via payment requests process

Prospecting
- Manage and organise research activities (e.g., focus groups)
- Support Commercial Product Manager in liaising with prospective authors on sample material/vision material and share with Content Strategists where needed
- Support Commercial Product Manager in finding potential new authors

**Author relationships**
- **Support CPM and Product team in understanding author sentiment and ongoing author engagement activities**:

- Manage ongoing author sentiment surveys
- Manage and produce author newsletter in collaboration with product team
- Ensure author launch packs are as required for product team to send out and access to texts has been confirmed
- Manage author advances and contributor advances
- Manage author review copies and competitor copies

Subject Matter Expert database
- Ensure SME database is managed and kept up to date
- Ensure author list is kept up to date

**Other**
- Note taking at relevant meetings (List Plan, GTD, etc)
- Support with strat plan and list plan preparation

**Qualifications and/or Experience**
- 1-2 years of relevant experience (preferable)
- Excellent data analysis skills (mandatory)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively for diverse audiences (mandatory)
