Traffic Surveyor

A Traffic Surveyor collects, records, and analyzes data related to traffic flow, vehicle types, pedestrian movements, travel patterns, and other transport-related activity. The data gathered is used by urban planners, local authorities, and transport engineers to design safer and more efficient roads and transport systems.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct manual and/or automated traffic counts at designated locations.
- Observe and record vehicle and pedestrian movements using tally counters, cameras, or data logging equipment.
- Set up and monitor traffic survey equipment (e.g., pneumatic tubes, ANPR cameras, GPS trackers).
- Collect data on vehicle types, speeds, directions, and travel times.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions and at different times, including early mornings or late evenings.
- Ensure accurate data recording and adherence to safety protocols.
- Submit completed data sheets or digital reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Liaise with supervisors and clients to clarify data requirements and locations.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- No formal qualifications required; however, a background in data collection or transportation studies is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Good time management and reliability.
- Basic knowledge of GPS and data collection tools is a plus.
- Willingness to work outdoors for extended periods and in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license may be required for some assignments.

**Working Conditions**:

- Field-based work, often in urban or roadside environments.
- May involve early starts, late finishes, or overnight work depending on survey type.
- Temporary or project-based roles common, but longer-term positions may be available with transport consultancies or government agencies.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
