Shell’s Haiza site has a wide range of operation that includes operating a complex power supply system that syncs Grid power as well as own Gas Turbine Generators, LNG Unloading operations from ships, Self-sustaining utilities like Nitrogen & Inst Air, Large Vaporisation equipment like Combustion and Open rack vaporisers, sea-water and cryogenic pumps, 14 Km pipeline outside the terminal boundary, custody transfer of Gas to various pipeline network and Truck loading units associated Control & Shutdown systems.

**What’s the role?**

As Shift Superintendent, you will manage the following:

- Accountable for safe and efficient operation of regasification facility during his shift.
- Lead the shift team comprising of Panel Officers, Field Officers, Electrical Field Officers and Emergency response team.
- Responsible to support the leadership and technical support team to meet the asset business objectives.
- Effectively manage and execute the site production, maintenance, and production excellence activities.
- Training and development of team
- Act as Incident commander during emergency till further support is received.

Moreover, your principal accountabilities are:

- Safe and efficient Cargo unloading and regasification, TLU & send out pipeline operation during shift meeting required nomination quantities for gas supply.
- Plant operation as per company policy & objectives and no deviation from procedure
- Handling of emergency as Incident commander.
- Optimum planning of various maintenance activities for best utilization of resources and for safe execution of work.
- Direct responsibility for managing HSSE performance of Shell staff and contractor staff for production related activities.
- Coordination with Ship, commercial, gas off takers, other stakeholders (if required) in the shift.
- Maintain positive motivation level in team and monitor competency of his team members.
- Ensuring upkeep of the plant -compliance with various system such as PTW, MOC, Safe isolations.
- Accountable for process optimisation.
- Accountable for safely and timely production gas nomination delivery to customers.
- Display field leadership of personal and process safety and environment stewardship.
- Maintain an overview of shift operation and maintenance activities in all regasification facilities.
- Responsible for all shutdown and start-up activities for all regasification facilities.
- Lead high level troubleshooting for field as well as panel.
- Assist panel officer during any critical activity.
- Ensuring competency of shift team and arrange training as per gap assessment. Coach field officer and panel officers on carrying out quality proactive monitoring rounds as per ESP (Ensure Safe production).
- Ensuring compliance to all AMS shall statements applicable to Operations (ESP, MTO, FPP, EQP, PHEA, TA, MTO).
- Ensuring compliance of ISO requirements.
- Control issuance of permits as per the criticality of job and the permit load on field officers.
- Screen the PTW and JHA before releasing permit.
- Accountable for all operations portable equipment, gas detectors, connected worker tools, hoses, tools, gaskets etc.
- Support and promote the digitalisation and continuous improvement drives and ensure full utilisation of these initiatives in day-to-day operations.
- To prepare operating procedures / WI.
- To perform defined HSE critical tasks.
- Ensure availability of production and safety critical equipment.
- As a leader create an environment of psychological safety and learner mindset within team.
- Acknowledge the human performance aspects of individual and thus takes failing safely approach in planning and execution.
- Distil learnings (LFI’s) from previous incidents related to SEIPL and implement appropriate changes.
- Proactively engage appropriate expertise during abnormal situations to manage process safety, reliability, and product quality risk to assets.
- Implement Leader Standard Work to assure standard work, process performance and to drive continuous improvement.
- Create ownership and drive continuous improvement in the work processes and work process interfaces by visibly displaying work process performance metrics for operations.
- Develop effective partnerships with Site Process Owners (SPO) and Site Process Focal Points (SPFP) for various AMS modules applicable to Operations; ESP, MTO, FPP, PHEA, TA, EQP.
- Demonstrate that the Ensure Plan Delivery (EPD) process are being monitored for effective implementation.
- Demonstrate that situational awareness activities are being monitored for correct execution.
- Demonstrate that the manage limits and alarm process is being monitored for effective implementation and the MOC process is followed for changes to alarm, trip settings and operator actions.
