Leading Power Plant industry As the Shift Incharge, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of power generation equipment during assigned shifts. Your role involves leading a team of operators, technicians, and support staff to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the power plant. The Shift Incharge plays a critical role in maintaining power generation within operational parameters, adhering to safety protocols, and meeting production targets.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Operational Oversight**:

- Supervise and coordinate the operation of boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment during assigned shifts.
- Monitor equipment performance, process parameters, and control systems to ensure smooth operation and optimal efficiency.
- **Safety Compliance**:

- Enforce safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and emergency response drills as per safety guidelines.
- **Troubleshooting and Maintenance**:

- Identify and troubleshoot operational issues, equipment failures, and process deviations.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities during downtime.
- **Shift Management**:

- Assign duties and responsibilities to shift personnel, including operators, technicians, and auxiliary staff.
- Monitor shift performance, productivity, and adherence to schedules and procedures.
- **Process Optimization**:

- Optimize plant operation parameters to maximize power generation efficiency and output.
- Implement operational improvements and process optimizations to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
- **Quality Control**:

- Monitor and maintain quality standards for fuel, water, steam, and emissions within regulatory limits.
- Conduct regular sampling, testing, and analysis of process fluids and emissions.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate shift logs, records, and operational data in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare shift reports, performance summaries, and incident reports for management review.
- **Team Leadership**:

- Provide leadership, guidance, and training to shift personnel to ensure competency and proficiency in their roles.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among shift staff.
- **Emergency Response**:

- Lead emergency response efforts during equipment failures, process upsets, or other critical incidents.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies to mitigate risks and minimize impact on operations.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Several years of experience in power plant operations, with specific experience in thermal power generation.
- Strong understanding of power plant equipment, processes, and control systems.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
- Leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate shift teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.

**Working Conditions**:

- Shift-based work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Exposure to noise, heat, and high-voltage equipment in the power plant environment.
- On-call availability for emergency situations or unplanned outages.
