We’ve built a next-generation platform and embedded payment API designed around an intelligent wallet architecture that allows businesses of all kinds to receive, manage, exchange and send money all over the world. XTRM operates using a fully distributed team spanning many countries. We are a high growth company, with over 1,500 global customers.

We are looking for a highly experienced **Solution Architect** to lead the technical design and architecture of a next-generation, event-driven wallet platform in the fintech domain. You will be responsible for defining the system architecture using Domain-Driven Design, implementing microservices on Azure, and ensuring alignment with scalability, security, and compliance standards.

You will work closely with stakeholders, product managers, and development teams to translate business capabilities into scalable, maintainable, and secure technical solutions.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead the end-to-end architecture of a microservices-based wallet platform on Azure.
- Define and partition bounded contexts using Domain-Driven Design principles.
- Design APIs, domain models, message contracts, and integration patterns.
- Define service interactions using event-driven architecture (Event Grid, Service Bus, etc.).
- Architect for eventual consistency, idempotency, and resiliency.
- Choose the right Azure services (Functions, AKS, Cosmos DB, Key Vault, etc.) per workload.
- Collaborate with product managers and domain experts to model complex financial domains.
- Establish architectural guardrails and ensure implementation aligns with them.
- Lead code and architecture reviews across teams.
- Contribute to infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipeline design, and DevSecOps practices.

**Required Skills & Qualifications**:
**Architecture & Design**:

- 8+ years in software engineering, 3+ years as a software or solution architect
- Deep knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (Aggregates, Value Objects, Repositories, Domain Events)
- Proficient in microservice architecture, CQRS, event sourcing
- Strong understanding of transactional boundaries, data consistency, and concurrent processing

**Cloud & Platform Expertise**:

- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, especially:

- App Services / AKS
- Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hubs
- Azure Functions, Storage (Blob/Table/Queue), Key Vault
- Azure SQL, Cosmos DB
- Familiarity with cloud-native observability: Application Insights, Log Analytics

**Security & Compliance**:

- Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, API gateway security
- Understanding of PCI-DSS, data privacy, auditing, encryption

**Technical Leadership**:

- Experience defining architecture for complex distributed systems
- Skilled in technical documentation, solution blueprints, and integration patterns
- Familiar with DevOps practices, CI/CD, GitOps, and infrastructure as code

**Nice-to-Have**:

- Prior experience in Fintech, Payments, or Digital Wallets
- Familiarity with gRPC, protobuf, Kafka/EventStore
- Exposure to OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing
- Experience with Azure B2C, AAD, RBAC models
- Previous involvement in system modernization or monolith-to-microservices migration

**Education & Certifications**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (preferred)
