**Job Title**: Molecular Biologist
**Department**: Research and Development (R&D) / Manufacturing
**Location**: Ambattur, Chennai.
**Reports To**: Operations Manager
**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Molecular Analysis & Testing**:
- Perform a variety of molecular biology techniques, including PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA/RNA extraction, sequencing, and cloning, to support product development and testing.
- Design and execute experiments to optimize production processes and validate raw materials and finished products.
- **Research & Development**:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research and develop new products, enhance existing ones, and optimize production workflows.
- Evaluate the genetic properties and molecular behaviors of materials used in manufacturing.
- **Quality Control & Assurance**:
- Conduct molecular diagnostic testing to ensure product quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
- Troubleshoot issues related to product defects or failures using molecular biology methods.
- **Documentation & Reporting**:
- Maintain accurate and thorough laboratory records, including experiment logs, methodologies, and results.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- **Collaboration & Innovation**:
- Work with manufacturing teams to scale up laboratory-based findings to full-scale production.
- **Regulatory Compliance**:
- Ensure all experiments and processes follow established regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, GMP, ISO) for safety and quality.
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory submissions and inspections.
**Required Qualifications**:
- **Education**:
- A Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- **Experience**:
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in a molecular biology or biotechnology role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and instruments used in molecular biology.
- **Technical Skills**:
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, qPCR, DNA/RNA sequencing, cloning, and genetic analysis.
- Strong understanding of bioinformatics tools and software for sequence analysis.
- **Knowledge**:
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO) related to biotechnology or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Ability to work with cross-disciplinary teams in an industrial environment.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Experience in an industrial or GMP environment is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with bioprocessing and scale-up methods.
- Experience with data analysis software (e.g., GraphPad, GenBank, BLAST).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

**Working Conditions**:
- This role may require working with hazardous materials, so adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
- Occasional travel may be required for on-site visits, conferences, or meetings.
