**JOB PURPOSE**

With limited supervision, the Editor drives project strategy and is accountable to deliver high quality, competitive, market-friendly print and digital products within the given timelines and budget. The Editor is expected to adhere to Pearson’s specifications, style, standards and quality parameters and lead all phases of a project.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**1. Driving business and financial results**

a. Understanding the market needs and planning for products mapped to various curricula

b. Budgeting, working within the given budget and ensuring to meet the gross margin target

**2. Development**

a. Helping with the development of all the components (both print and digital) of the assigned project

b. Bringing out zero-error products driven by innovation

**3. Vendor management**

a. Work with suitable vendors and ensuring they deliver quality work within the given timelines

b. Negotiating prices and drawing up their agreements in coordination with the legal team

**4. Cross-functional coordination**

Working smoothly with different functions, such as rights and permissions, production, manufacturing, legal, sales and marketing throughout the duration of project

**5. Customer experience**

Visiting schools and customers for workshops, trainings and capturing market feedback

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS**
- Master’s degree in English from a reputed university
- 5+ years of experience in publishing, with minimum 2 years of experience in K12 publishing
- Proficiency in PC and MAC, and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Teaching experience preferred
