RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advanced knowledge of MV/HV/EHV substation switching protocols.
- Advanced knowledge of high voltage protection and control philosophies, scheme and how to accurately test each of them.
- Review & study bid document in order to verify the availability of sufficient information to support the go/no go decision.
- Prepare design briefs, design reports, comprehensive design documentation, calculations, drawings, specifications, schedules and other project documents of solar/ electrical engineering systems (Medium Voltage and Low Voltage) for projects utilizing research, development, relevant international standards and codes and good engineering practices and according to the client’s design requirements;
- Preparing complete bid technical submittal for the project.
- Preparing method statements for execution of BOQ items (if required), Perform quantity take off for lump sum project or items.
- Review Technical Offers, Shop Drawings Material Submittals for electrical systems Products used and checked their Compliance with Specifications & Standards.
- Evaluating suppliers offers and checking compliance with tender requirements & best prices.
- Prepare technical & commercial offers for medium voltage package (transformers, RMUs and switchgears) according to company standard, Follow-up client inquiries and price negotiations
- Able to designed Electrical Power Distribution systems (Lighting, Power, Cable Sizing, Panel Schedules &Single Line Diagrams) in addition to solar and renewable systems’ including all types of Photovoltaic components.
- Understand the design concept and intent by reviewing construction documentation, including drawings, specifications, vendor submittals and sequences of operations.
- Provide recommendations and feedback regarding the design, equipment selection, pre-functional checklists, startup and functional test scripts, maintainability, and constructability enhancements.
- Develop and review of MV/HV/EHV QA/QC pre-functional checklists, start-up and functional test scripts for switchgear (including but not limited to; site wide MV/HV/EHV infrastructure, Switchgear, Relays, DC Systems, Transformers and Earthing Systems.)
- Review of IED protection settings and logic files of most IED manufacturers.
- Review documentation for compliance with client standards, industry standards, and design specifications.
- Verify the system's performance, including establishing acceptance criteria, obtaining completed reports, performing verification and spot checking for validation.
- Assist in as-built documentation and review for accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate commissioning issues, questions and concerns through proper channels in a timely manner.
- Develop project-specific commissioning schedules and plans.
- Track commissioning issues until resolved and closed.
