**Your role**
- We are looking for a senior data architect who has extensive hands-on experience of working on data architecture & standards, data governance, and designing enterprise data platforms using cloud capabilities to help us deliver the IB data strategy.
- The role will require you to:
- have knowledge of metadata registries, front-to-back lineage, business taxonomy, physical data models and data transformation
- understand data interoperability and modern data mesh concepts
- own and communicate data architecture standards, guidelines and policies
- propose reference architectures and reference implementations
- have experience with data technologies including relational and nosql storage technologies
- have experience with event driven, batch and real-time data architecture, analytics and transformation
- lead or contribute towards proof of concepts and position papers
- work with our stakeholders in maturing their target state architecture and help achieve our data strategy

- experience in a senior data architect role defining standards and strategies
- experience on implementation and use of metadata repositories for business and technical metadata
- experience in data governance including annual certification exercises
- knowledge of sql and nosql database technologies spanning relational (oracle, sql server, postgresql), document (mongodb, cosmos db) and graph stores
- working knowledge of technologies used in data integration, data streaming, real-time processing, reporting, visualisation, analytics and data warehousing
- broad understanding of different data platform capabilities whether that be machine learning, data science or data analytics
- experience of key azure (or equivalent aws or google) technologies such as cosmos db, azure sql, synapse analytics, spark, kafka and databricks
- background in data modelling using tools such as ea sparx or erwin with knowledge of common data models and industry models
- excellent communication skills to be able to explain complex architectural concepts to stakeholders
- mentor and coach junior team members in a globally distributed environment
- ideally have investment banking domain knowledge
- ideally have cloud certification such as azure to be able to recommend appropriate data architecture solutions and patterns
