We're hiring for a **News Reporter (Political)** role.

**Job Overview**:
A Political News Reporter is responsible for researching, investigating, and reporting on political events and issues etc. They analyze government policies, elections, legislative actions and political campaigns to provide accurate, timely and informative news coverage to the public.

**Responsibilities**:
Research and Gather Information:

- Conduct in-depth research on political topics policies, and key stakeholders to gather relevant information for news stories.

Report Writing and Storytelling:

- Write clear, concise and engaging news stories, articles and reports on political events and issues.
- Present complex political topics in an accessible and understandable manner for a diverse audience.

Interviewing:

- Conduct interviews with political stakeholders, government officials, experts and other relevant sources to gather insights and perspectives on political topics.
- Prepare thoughtful, probing questions to draw out informative responses from interviewees.

Fact-Checking and Accuracy:

- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of information presented in news stories through rigorous fact-checking and verification.
- Maintain high journalistic standards of objectivity, fairness and balance in reporting.

Deadline Management:

- Work under tight deadlines to deliver news stories promptly and efficiently.
- Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet editorial deadlines.

Multimedia Reporting:

- Utilize multimedia tools and platforms to enhance news coverage, including video reports, podcasts, interactive graphics etc.
- Adapt reporting techniques for various media formats and audiences, including social media and broadcast.

Continuous Learning and Professional Development:

- Stay informed about political developments, media trends and journalistic best practices through ongoing learning and professional development.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Political Science, Communications or related field.
- Proven experience in journalism, preferably with a focus on political reporting.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Excellent research, interviewing and investigative reporting abilities.
- Knowledge of political processes and current affairs.
- Proficiency in multimedia reporting tools and platforms is a plus.

**Job Type**: Temporary
Contract length: 2 months

**Salary**: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
