**Where you fit**

We have an exciting position for an AI Data Scientist to join the NLP Team in Projects and Technology. Our team works on several projects across Shell focusing on developing end-to-end Natural Language Processing solutions. As an AI Data Scientist, you will work hands-on across project teams focusing on research and implementation of NLP models.

**What’s the role?**

As a AI Data Scientist your accountabilities are:

- Implement and utilise Large Language Models and other NLP techniques for a variety of use cases.
- Scrutinize and enhance the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of the models we build.
- Work with disparate requirements with high tolerance for ambiguity, very strong problem-solving ability.
- Deliver NLP/Gen AI solutions which create enduring value.
- Work with natural teams across time zones and locations.
- Keep up to date on the latest breakthroughs in AI and NLP.

**What we need from you**
- Bachelor’s/ Master's Degree in Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Math, or related field.
- 6+ years’ experience working on software development and building deep learning algorithms in the NLP space.
- Hands-on experience working on Generative AI, with a focus on Large Language Models.
- Working knowledge of main NLP/AI libraries.
- Programming experience using one or more of the following: Java, C++, Python, R, Go, Kubernetes, Deep learning or equivalent.
- Experience with building prototypes (PoCs and MVPs) in the NLP domain.
- Excellent communication skills, both with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stakeholder management experience and ability to mentor and guide interns.
