Job Responsibilities

**Guest Service Assistant
- Security**:
**Position Purpose
To perform such duties and observe and confirm to such directions and instructions as may be assigned or communicated to by the company or by such officers who are placed in authority over you. To ensure overall security of the hotel.

**Responsibilities**
- To abide by the mission statement of the Hotel and the department.
- To ensure protection and safety of Hotel property and prevent it from misuse and damages.
- To ensure safety of the residents guests, the walk in guests and their belongings.
- To observe the employees for their honesty and security consciousness.
- To supervise security guards, door men and valet drivers.
- Tactfully deal with violent guests whenever situation arises.
- To patrol guest entrances, all public areas, corridors, basements, hotel terrace, periphery of hotel, car park area in the hotel and outside,, the staff entrance, rest rooms and staff dining rooms.
- To monitor the cars parked and to keep tabs on any damages / scratches to any of the parked cars.
- To keep check on contractual work and monitor entry and exit.
- To clear the area around the hotel from undesirable elements.
- To be alert for suspicious moving persons
- To detect and take preventive measures against fire hazards and bring into the notice of the Security Manager/Fire Safety Consultants.
- To always be clean shaven and adhere to personal grooming as per standards laid down by the hotel.

**Reporting Relationships**

Reports to Security Manager

**Interdepartmental Interaction**

To coordinate with various departments in ensuring and addressing safety and security.

**Task Statements**:
**Morning shift**
- Take over charge from night shift office
- To conduct and attend briefing
- To check mail and ensure safety and delivery
- To take round of all guest room areas, pool side,
- To check for posting of lifeguards and for pool cleaning
- To check Visitors pass/ RGP/NRGP
- To check log book at various Gates
- To check contents and usage of the First Aid Box
- To ensure a fire safety check (Extinguishers/Fire alarm panel)
- To follow TSL cars safety and hygiene check
- To ensure proper log and safe keeping of lost and found items
- To check and ensure proper functioning of HHMD/ Walkie Talkie/Scanner and Visitor Management
- To ensure proper handover to afternoon shift

**Afternoon Shift**
- To ensure that charge is taken over from Morning shift
- To check mail and ensure safety of contents and delivery
- To take rounds and cover staff Areas, back areas, STP and guest room areas
- To conduct and attend briefing for Afternoon shift guards
- To ensure that log book has been updated at various points of entry
- To ensure proper working of torches
- To follow TSL cars safety and hygiene check
- To conduct and attend briefing for the night shift guards
- To ensure a proper handover has been done for the night shift

**Night Shift**
- To take over from the afternoon shift officer
- To check mail and ensure safety of contents and delivery
- To check night patrolling report and vehicles check list
- To ensure a complete check and verification of Departmental Keys
- To check and validate log book entries at various points of entry/exit
- To carry out a verification and check on Visitors Pass/RGP/NRGP
- To make arrangements as directed to facilitate the ‘Ladies Drop’
- To track, check and verify lost and found items
- To attend and conduct briefing for Morning shift

**To keep updated on various safety and security measures**
- To have through knowledge of fire fighting equipments in the hotel.
- To know the different type of fire fighting extinguishers, their locations and date of expiry of containers of extinguishers.
- To have knowledge of smoke detectors and maintain schedule for preventative maintenance to ensure their working conditions.
- To participate in fire fighting drills.
- To constantly update oneself on fire fighting techniques, surveillance techniques and attend training class whenever required.
- To be vigilant at all times against fire hazards.

**To be proactive in ensuring safety and security**
- To take note of various notifications issued by law enforcing authorities about conman, suspected terrorists and other undesirable visitors.
- To help the guest promptly whenever required, weather pertaining to left over baggage in taxi, missing article and from room or rendering assistance for medical help.
- To immediately reach the site of fire upon receiving informing and keep superiors informed.
- To inform superiors of any unusual happening grape vine in hotel premises and vicinity of the hotel.
- To promptly bring to the attention of superiors all complaints and compliments received from guests.

**Requirements**:
**Education**

Any Qualification/Graduate

Excellent communication

Relevant experience would be preferred.
