**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Database Administration**: Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases (SQL Server 2016/2017/2019 or higher).
- **Performance Tuning & Optimization**: Monitor and tune database performance, including query optimization, index maintenance, and managing database growth.
- **Backup & Recovery**: Implement and manage database backup strategies using native SQL Server tools or third-party solutions. Ensure high availability and disaster recovery with technologies like AlwaysOn, Log Shipping, and Replication.
- **Database Security**: Manage user roles, permissions, and data encryption to ensure database security and compliance with internal and external standards.
- **Database Maintenance**: Perform database maintenance tasks such as updates, patches, upgrades, and scheduled jobs.
- **Troubleshooting**: Analyze and resolve database issues, including deadlocks, performance bottlenecks, and query execution problems.
- **Capacity Planning**: Perform storage and capacity planning to ensure database growth is managed effectively.
- **Monitoring & Alerts**: Implement database monitoring solutions to track performance metrics, set up alerts, and ensure system stability.
- **Documentation**: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation on database architecture, processes, and procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- **Experience**:

- 5+ years of experience as a SQL DBA in enterprise environments.
- Proficient in managing SQL Server (2016, 2017, 2019).
- Strong expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and index management.
- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions like AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Log Shipping, Replication, and Mirroring.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
- Experience in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning using native and third-party tools.
- **Skills**:

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of database security, user management, and role-based access control (RBAC).
- Experience in automating administrative tasks using T-SQL, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages.
- Familiarity with cloud-based databases (Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with cloud technologies like Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Microsoft SQL Server certification (MCSA or MCSE).
- Experience with database clustering and large-scale deployments.
