Architectural Design Coordinator

**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a **Design Coordinator** with a strong **architecture background** to join our team. This role will serve as the primary point of contact between the construction site and external consultants providing design services. The Design Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating all design-related aspects of construction projects, ensuring that the drawings and designs provided by consultants align with the site requirements, timelines, and quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Point of Contact for Design and Drawings**:

- Act as the main liaison between the construction site and external design consultants for all drawing and design-related queries.
- Ensure effective communication between the site team and consultants to resolve any design-related issues or discrepancies during the project.
- Ensure that design changes are clearly communicated to all relevant stakeholders, including contractors, architects, and site engineers.
- **Review and Coordination of Design Drawings**:

- Review all architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) design drawings for completeness, accuracy, and feasibility before construction begins.
- Coordinate the preparation of detailed design drawings with consultants and ensure they are aligned with the project's requirements and specifications.
- Ensure that drawings are updated regularly to reflect changes and any new requirements as the project progresses.
- **Design Integration and Site Requirements**:

- Coordinate with consultants to ensure that design solutions are compatible with site conditions and construction schedules.
- Monitor the implementation of design changes and resolve any conflicts or discrepancies between the design drawings and actual site conditions.
- Work closely with site engineers and project managers to ensure designs are executed as per the approved drawings.
- **Quality Control and Compliance**:

- Ensure that all design work complies with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that designs are being implemented correctly and address any issues or adjustments that arise.
- Ensure that all design documentation is properly stored, organized, and easily accessible for future reference or audits.
- **Design Coordination Meetings**:

- Organize and attend coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and project teams to review the design process and resolve any outstanding issues.
- Document meeting minutes, decisions, and action points for follow-up and ensure that the design process stays on track.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain an organized record of all design-related documentation, including correspondence, drawing revisions, and approvals.
- Provide regular progress reports to the project manager and other key stakeholders on the status of design-related issues, changes, and implementation.
- **Problem-Solving and Decision-Making**:

- Identify potential design-related issues and proactively work with the design team and consultants to resolve them.
- Make informed decisions regarding design modifications, ensuring mínimal impact on project timelines, costs, and quality.

**Qualifications**:

- **Educational Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in **Architecture** or related field from a recognized institution.
- Additional certifications in project management or construction management (preferred).
- **Experience**:

- 5+ years of experience in a design coordination or architectural role, preferably within the real estate or construction industry.
- Experience working directly with consultants, contractors, and project teams on construction projects.
- Familiarity with architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and construction processes.
- **Skills and Competencies**:

- Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, construction methods, and project management practices.
- Proficient in **AutoCAD**, **Revit**, or similar design software.
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with consultants, site teams, and clients.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to identify problems and propose practical design solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

**Desired Skills**:

- Familiarity with 3D modeling and BIM (Building Information Modeling) software is an advantage.
- Ability to coordinate and manage project timelines effectively.
- Strong client-facing skills and experience handling communication with external stakeholders.

**Work Conditions**:

- The role will involve both office and site-based work.
