**Job Title**: Bharatanatyam Dancer/Instructor/Choreographer

**Job Type**: Part-Time
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Performance**:

- Perform Bharatanatyam dance in concerts, cultural events, festivals, or private shows.
- Collaborate with musicians, event organizers, and other dancers for live performances.
- Engage in solo or group performances showcasing various traditional or thematic Bharatanatyam pieces.
- **Instruction & Teaching**:

- Teach Bharatanatyam dance to students of varying age groups and proficiency levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced).
- Develop structured lesson plans covering techniques, postures, mudras, abhinaya (expressions), and rhythms.
- Prepare students for performances, competitions, or dance exams.
- Provide feedback and guidance on improving skills and refining techniques.
- **Choreography**:

- Choreograph original Bharatanatyam pieces for personal performances or for students.
- Design creative and innovative sequences, blending tradition with contemporary themes when needed.
- Collaborate with music composers or use existing classical pieces for dance choreography.
- **Cultural Preservation & Education**:

- Promote the traditional values and cultural significance of Bharatanatyam.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and demonstrations on Bharatanatyam and its history.
- Work to create awareness and understanding of Bharatanatyam in schools, universities, and community centers.
- **Rehearsal & Practice**:

- Participate in regular practice sessions to maintain physical fitness, flexibility, and precision.
- Conduct group rehearsals for coordinated performances with other dancers.
- Stay updated with new trends and developments in Bharatanatyam while maintaining its classical essence.
- **Event Management (optional)**:

- Organize and manage Bharatanatyam events or dance shows.
- Coordinate with event managers, stage designers, and costume designers for a flawless performance.
- Promote and market performances through social media, brochures, and cultural networks.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- **Formal Training**: Must have formal and certified training in Bharatanatyam from a recognized dance institution or Guru (mentor).
- **Experience**: A minimum of [X] years of experience in performing and/or teaching Bharatanatyam.
- **Technical Expertise**: Proficient in Bharatanatyam techniques including nritta (pure dance), nritya (expressive dance), and natya (drama).
- **Knowledge of Indian Classical Music**: Familiarity with Carnatic music and tala (rhythmic cycles) that accompany Bharatanatyam performances.
- **Choreographic Skills**: Ability to create, innovate, and design dance sequences.
- **Communication**: Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills, especially in explaining complex techniques and expressions.
- **Cultural Understanding**: Deep knowledge of the cultural, historical, and spiritual elements of Bharatanatyam.
- **Flexibility and Stamina**: Physically fit to perform for extended periods and manage the rigorous nature of Bharatanatyam.

**Additional Requirements**:

- Ability to travel for performances and workshops.
- Experience in organizing and participating in cultural programs, competitions, or festivals.
- A passion for promoting Indian classical arts globally.

Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹10,000.00 per month
