Payments - Information Architecture - Associate

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:

- The Payments Information Architecture team is part of the Payments Chief Data Office (CDO) and is primarily tasked with creating and managing the Payment Domain’s Business Data Glossary and associated Business Information Models (BIMs)._
- The team works with partners in product and technology, to design and build flexible and scalable data solutions that are consistent with business understanding of the information they create and process. This partnership primarily takes the form of using the Glossary & BIM resources as a reference for implementation specific Logical Data Models._
- The team also collaborates with the wider Payments architecture community to ensure implementations follow information architecture best practice standards, patterns and guidelines._

Job responsibilities_**
- _Works with product owners and business SMEs to understand functional and data requirements for implementations in order to build Logical Data Models that reflect requirements and can be used by technologists to build solutions that are fit for purpose_
- _Actively looks to expand and mature the content of the Business Information Models by leveraging analysis and modelling done on implementations_
- _Works with the Information Architecture leadership to ensure best practice data modelling standards & guidelines are followed by BIMs and implementation LDMs_
- _Engages technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose information architecture approaches to meet current and future needs_
- _Participates in information architecture governance bodies_
- _Evaluates information architecture recommendations and provides feedback to stakeholders_
- _Executes creative information architecture solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions and break down technical problems_
- _Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues_
- _Facilitates evaluation sessions of data models with relevant stakeholders to drive positive outcomes through probing of functional & data requirements, definitions and validation rules_
- _Leads information architecture communities of practice to drive awareness and use of modern information architecture technologies_
- _Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect_
- _**_Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills_**
- _Degree in Computing Science or related degree or relevant related experience_
- _5+ years experience as an Information or Data Architect_
- _Hands-on practical experience delivering Logical Data Models_
- _Hands-on practical experience of Logical Data Modelling Tools_
- _Hands-on practical experience of Business & Data Analysis techniques_
- _Exposure to Industry Data Models_
- _Experience in building Common Data Model’s _
- _Advanced knowledge of architecture & Exposure to other Data management functional area_
- _Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle_
- _In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems_
- _Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend the best information architecture solutions for the future state architecture_

**_ Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills_**
- _Working knowledge of MagicDraw and Erwin or other data modelling tools_
- _Knowledge of UML & ER modelling methods_
- _Knowledge of Wholesale Payments business_
- _Knowledge of Domain Driven Design_
