**Essential Job Functions**
- Counsels managers on routine legal matters affecting their functional areas in order to increase employee understanding of legal processes and ensure that the company's legal position is maintained.
- Gathers legal information, conducts research, and assists in the preparation of various legal documents including briefs, contracts and leases.
- Represents the company in legal matters that are straightforward or represent mínimal legal exposure to the company.
- Interacts with outside counsel, other legal personnel, technical experts, jury consultants, paralegals, support staff, and business unit representatives to facilitate compliance with company policies and procedures, and protect the company's legal position.
- Provides basic legal advice and assistance on appropriate legal action to business unit representatives as appropriate.

**Basic Qualifications**
- Juris doctorate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- State bar admission
- Nine or more years of legal experience in corporate environment, law firm or government agency
- Experience working with law, and corporate policies and procedures
- Experience working with automated legal research tools

**Other Qualifications**
- Good legal analysis, research and writing skills
- Good communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills for communicating with management, employees and third parties, including other legal counsel
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Good work organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
