**Responsibilities:
- Decide how the course is best presented to learners using knowledge of learning design principles, theories, and models to scrutinise gaps in the curricula to ensure that learning objectives are met in conjunction with the suitability of the organisation’s learning management systems.
- Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer
- State instructional end goals and create content that matches them
- Design templates, graphic content, illustrations, infographics, animations, video and web-style pages.
- Manage graphic and media designs and multiple complex development projects from conception to delivery.
- Visualise instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
- Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts
- Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
- Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)
- Decide on the criteria used to judge learner’s performance and develop assessment instruments
- Maintain project documentation and course folders

**Profile/Competencies**:

- Proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology
- Strong intrinsic design ability, typographic skills, attention to detail, and web expertise with the ability to manage multiple projects and handle large volumes of creative work.
- Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills
- Experienced with all elements of graphic, visual design, branding, animation, and video creation.
- Must have excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge
- Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and SCORM/AICC standards
- Strong understanding of instructional design models, theories, and best practices
- Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
- BS or MA degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar
