- When Emergency Cases Are There On Off Days Or Late Night, On Call Services Are Provided To Avoid Hampering Of OT Work The Next Day

Perform on call duties whenever assigned on the roster, during evenings, nights or holidays

Establish and maintain positive professional relationship within the department with all the CSSD customers

Maintain safe environment for storage of sterile stock & instruments, supplies & equipment

The end of the duty to put off all the electric switches and make sure the department is tidy

Sort, record and wash all surgical instruments, Anaesthesia tubing and bottles in the mechanical washer

Disinfect all dirty instruments and equipment in the dirty area

Assemble and pack all surgical instruments and equipment in the dirty area

Sterilize and store all packs in the sterile store, safely and effectively

Operate all the machines in CSSD, safely and effectively

Collect non-sterile surgical instruments and deliver all processed sterile packs to the wards and departments

Disinfecting and sterilizing equipment such as respirators, hospital beds, and oxygen and dialysis equipment, using sterilizers, aerators and washers

Operates complicated high-pressure autoclaves selecting the correct programme for sterilizations according to the nature of the material being sterilized

Organizing and assembling routine and specialty surgical instrument trays and other sterilized supplies, filling special requests as needed

Cleaning instruments to prepare them for sterilization

Packing Disposable Items Like Gauzes, Orthorolls, Gamjee Pads, And Nasal Pack

Operating and maintaining steam autoclaves, keeping records of loads completed, items in loads, and maintenance procedures performed

Recording sterilizer test results.

Ensures that infected material is immediately disinfected taking meticulous care to wear protective clothing.

Selects the most suitable programme to clean the instruments using the ultrasonic cleaning machine and the instruments washing machine.

Identifies items that are thermolabile and sterilises them using ethylene oxide gas sterilisers. This includes selecting the correct time, cycle and placing of the gas cylinder. Allows enough time for aeration before material is issued to ensure that there are no traces of gas.

Check and inspects all used instruments and other materials returned from theatres, wards and clinics ensuring that all are identified according to name, type, functions and size.

Operates the ultrasonic fine lumen cleaner and sonic irrigator ensuring that all surgical and instruments are correctly placed in their baskets and transferred to different tanks at the correct time.

Assembles, returned surgical instruments after cleaning into various sets. Inspects and tests all instruments and other related materials including sharpness alignment.

Packs sets in a manner consistent with sterile techniques and medical arrangement procedure. Identifies each set by fixing its official name on the outer covers with expiry dates, packing dates and batching codes.

Assembles and prepares various operating material used in theatres such as lithotomy, abdominal sets, surgeon’s gowns and all needed packs for daily posted operations
