- Monitoring the refinery’s operations to ensure that they are running smoothly
- Monitoring equipment and machinery in order to detect malfunctions and potential problems
- Analyzing samples of crude oil and finished products to ensure that they meet industry standards
- Installing new equipment and machinery as needed
- Recording operational data such as temperature, pressure, volume, and flow rates
- Monitoring the quality of incoming materials and outgoing products to ensure that they meet legal requirements
