**JOB SUMMARY - BSc Nursing**
- **Patient Assessment and Care**:

- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' health status, including physical, psychological, and social factors.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on assessment findings, evidence-based practice, and patient preferences.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and response to treatment, and intervene promptly to address changes in condition.
- **Patient Education and Counseling**:

- Educate patients and families about their health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies to promote wellness and prevent complications.
- Provide counseling and support to patients and families coping with illness, injury, or chronic conditions, addressing emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs.
- Teach patients about medication management, dietary modifications, exercise routines, and lifestyle changes to optimize health outcomes and prevent readmissions.
- **Clinical Procedures and Interventions**:

- Perform clinical procedures and interventions within the scope of nursing practice, such as wound care, IV therapy, catheterization, and tracheostomy care.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions, including assisting physicians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Monitor and maintain equipment and supplies in patient care areas, ensuring availability and functionality for safe and effective patient care delivery.
- **Documentation and Record-Keeping**:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including nursing assessments, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Document all nursing interventions, medications administered, and patient responses in a timely and thorough manner, using electronic health record (EHR) systems and standardized documentation tools.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information, adhering to HIPAA regulations and institutional policies.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:

- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and treatment plans, including physicians, therapists, social workers, and case managers.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, using therapeutic communication techniques, active listening, and empathy to promote trust and rapport.
- Participate in patient care conferences, rounds, and team meetings to discuss patient progress, goals, and care coordination strategies.
- **Quality Improvement and Evidence-Based Practice**:

- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice projects to enhance patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction.
- Collect and analyze data on nursing-sensitive indicators, patient outcomes, and process measures to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices.
- Stay current with nursing research, literature, and professional guidelines to inform clinical practice and promote continuous learning and professional development.
- **Patient Advocacy and Ethical Decision-Making**:

- Advocate for patients' rights, preferences, and needs within the healthcare system, ensuring informed consent, respect for autonomy, and dignity in care delivery.
- Address ethical dilemmas and conflicts in patient care through collaborative decision-making, adherence to ethical principles, and consultation with ethics committees or supervisors.
- Promote a culture of patient-centered care, shared decision-making, and cultural competence in nursing practice, respecting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
