Drone Instructor

IITDM Vizag is looking for a **DGCA-certified Remote Pilot Instructor** to deliver professional drone training programs in compliance with DGCA regulations. The role involves training students in theory, simulator, and practical flight operations, ensuring safety, maintaining compliance, and fostering excellence in UAV operations.

**Drone Instructor - Key Responsibilities**

**1. Training & Instruction**
- Conduct Remote Pilot Training Courses as per the approved syllabus and Training & Procedure Manual (TPM).
- Teach students safe and effective drone operation through theoretical, lab, simulator, and practical flying sessions.
- Demonstrate pre-flight checks, flight maneuvers, and post-flight procedures.

**2. Safety & Compliance**
- Ensure all UAS operations comply with DGCA regulations and relevant guidelines.
- Emphasize safety protocols, risk management, and responsible drone usage.

**3. Curriculum Development**
- Design, update, and customize training materials and lesson plans for various skill levels.
- Provide trainees with accurate and approved course information using authorized learning resources.

**4. Flight Supervision**
- Supervise students during practice flights and simulator sessions.
- Offer constructive feedback to improve flying skills and decision-making.

**5. Technical Knowledge**
- Explain drone components, maintenance, troubleshooting, and related software usage.
- Stay updated with DGCA syllabus revisions and UAV/RPAS technology advancements.

**6. Assessment & Certification**
- Assess and certify trainee competency in theory, lab, simulator, and practical flying.
- Conduct examinations per DGCA regulations while ensuring question paper security.
- Recommend certification or further training based on performance.

**7. Administrative Duties**
- Maintain student training reports, progress records, and certifications in line with DGCA requirements.
- Coordinate with regulatory bodies for licensing and compliance.
- Safeguard IITDM Vizag’s intellectual property and maintain confidentiality.
- Follow defined schedules and procedures outlined in the RPTO TPM.

**Qualifications & Skills**
- **Mandatory**: Certified RPAS Trainer listed in the **DGCA Certified RPAS Trainer List** (Digital Sky platform).
- Completion of **DGCA-approved Train the Trainer** program for the relevant RPA category and class.
- Minimum **2-4 years of experience** as a drone pilot.
- Preferably **1-1.5 years** of experience as a drone pilot instructor.
- Previous **teaching/training experience** is an added advantage.
- Excellent **communication skills** - verbal, written, and presentation.
