- Payments Transaction cycle provides Payment services to all Business units (Corporate, Retail, Persona, Business Banking, Wealth, Barclaycard, Trade). The Payments team supports Barclays businesses globally.
- Main duties and responsibilities
Working as a Functional Designer your core responsibilities will be gathering requirements and producing functional design for Instant Payments within the payments transaction team
- Translating Business requirements to Functional/Interface requirements
- Maintaining requirements / analysis traceability from design deliverables to business requirements
- Coordinating meetings and discussions with stakeholders and team members
- Conducting “walk-throughs” of recommended system functionality and prototypes with stakeholders
- Providing support to the Functional Design lead, and all other change roles as required

**What will you be doing?**

The role holder will
- Follow established Architecture processes and procedures to analyse business requirements
- Understand the Business requirements to produce high quality Functional Design documents for a solution that fulfils business needs.
- provide input to all component designs where applicable
- work closely with the Application developers to ensure all functional requirements are met
- work closely with the test teams to help them define test scenarios and review them.
- support in the resolution of defects that arise out of the test cycles
- engage to analyse the root-cause of issues faced in Test and Production environments
- perform proof of concepts to ascertain the preferred solution in a given situation
- identify risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies and ensure these are logged on the relevant project RAIDS log
- assist in undertaking impact analysis on major design options, together with the assessment and management of associated risks
- ensure that the design balances functional, service quality and systems management requirements

**What we’re looking for**:

- Experience of detailed design through production of FRDs (Functional Requirements Definition) and IRDs (Interface Requirements definition).
- Strong Payments knowledge from a business, operational and technology perspective with knowledge of various clearing system e.g. Faster Payments, CHAPS, TARGET2, EURO1, SEPA, FEDWIRE & CHIPS
- excellent knowledge of e2e payment life cycle and workflows

**Skills that will help you in the role**:

- Degree educated with experience of working in a similar type of role
- Experience in Agile methodologies and artefacts like user story, Kanban board etc
