**Job Brief**:
We’re looking for Microbiologist to join our team and help us develop new ways to detect and treat disease.

**Microbiologist Duties**:

- Perform routine and complex laboratory tasks
- Obtain and analyze results, performing analyses such as bacteriology, bacteriology, and virology
- Perform quality control duties
- Assist in the development of interpretive protocols, policies and procedures
- Liaise with physicians and staff in order to assist with diagnosis and treatment
- Perform routine functions associated with the prevention and control of workplace hazards and communicable diseases
- Perform routine and more complex laboratory procedures
- Assist with quality control procedures and laboratory quality assurance
- Perform routine and more complex laboratory procedures
- Conduct quality control procedures for microbiological products
- Assist in the development of interpretive protocols, policies and procedures
- Perform routine functions associated with the prevention and control of workplace hazards and communicable diseases
- Obtain and analyze results, performing analyses such as bacteriology, bacteriology, and virology
- Perform quality control

**Microbiologist Responsibilities**:

- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in microbiology, biology, or related field.
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques and equipment
- Knowledge of microbiology principles and practices
- Knowledge of environmental health and safety laws

**Requirements And Skills**:

- Perform routine environmental monitoring and microbial sampling in construction, industrial, commercial, and residential settings, including air, water, and soil
- Perform microbial sampling, including bulk water, groundwater, ground water, drainage, soil, and sediment monitoring
- Measure water quality parameters, including pH, conductivity/ TDS, total dissolved solids, total suspended solids, and turbidity
- Perform environmental sampling to EPA, OSHA, and state standards, maintaining accurate records of procedures
- Conduct microbial tests, including plate counts, coliform counts, E. coli counts, Legionella counts, and yeast and mold counts, following current EPA, OSHA, and state standards
- Develop standard operating procedures for environmental sampling
- Perform laboratory analysis of environmental samples, including using standard microbiological techniques
